Best Special Olympics Memory:Special Olympics have allowed for many sport highlights for Max.  One memory that likely tops his list is when he and his baseball team travelled to Virginia for a SONA tournament. It was an amazing experience that allowed true team-building experiences, exciting games, and the opportunity to meet fellow athletes from across the United States and Canada.

Another highlight was a basketball tournament a few years ago. The game ended in a tie as Max shot a “buzzer beater” from across the court. After 5 different overtime 5 minute games, Max and his team finally won the game. It was incredibly exciting!

Max currently works part-time for the Amherstburg Fire Department as a Fire Assistance.  He has been doing this job for 3 months now is and is very much enjoying his new job!
Message to Sponsors:You only have to watch the reaction on the face of a Special Olympica athlete to truly appreciate how important it is for them to have the opportunity to play sports and compete with other athletes.  Community support is essential to ensuring that all athletes have the opportunity to participate in sporting events and become true athletic champions.

Thank you to the generous supporters who believe in Special Olympics athletes, who believe in inclusion and who believe every athlete should have the opportunity to be an accomplished athlete!

To the supporters, please know that many athletes would not have the opportunity to participate in sporting tournaments if not for your financial assistance. Thank you for your generosity and support….but most importantly for making a true difference in the life of a Special Olympics athlete!
